Mrs. Spangler, M.Ed., is a retired educator with specializations in childhood development, teaching reading, and in diagnostic and corrective instructional methods. During her years in education, she taught Head Start, Kindergarten, and was an elementary and middle school reading instructor for grades 1-6. She was an elementary science teacher and a second-grade classroom teacher.  As an adjunct instructor at Centenary College, she taught several teaching reading and science courses. On a national level, she has participated in judging panels for the NSF’s program PAEMST and NSTA’s ExploraVision program. She is presently a children’s book author. Among her works is The Fort on Fourth Street, a science book about the six simple machines. Mrs. Spangler and her family continue to be devoted to helping families and children. On this site, she is presenting a compilation of recognized instructional strategies which many parents have found helpful with their child’s education at home.
