Mrs. Spangler has provided many workshops to parent groups. Workshop 1:

Homework And Parents

Does your child have the “homework blues”? Do you find yourself  nagging and prodding your child to complete his/her homework? Do you have questions about how to support your child’s school work? During her excellent presentation Mrs. Spangler  provides participants with tips on how you can help your child complete  homework. She also provides many valuable strategies to help children complete long range homework assignments.

Workshop 2:

Reading At Home

Are you wondering how and what to read to your child? Do you know why it is important to read to your child each day? In this presentation you will learn how to establish a daily reading program with your child. You will also learn how to ask questions which will help your child to comprehend what is being read.  Mrs. Spangler will also share many easy reading activities which promote vocabulary development, writing, and reading comprehension. Workshop 3:

Helping Your Child Learn The Alphabet

Are you looking for fun ways to help your child learn or practice the alphabet at home? Has your child’s teacher asked you to help your child learn the alphabet? In this presentation Mrs. Spangler will provide participants with many activities and information about learning the alphabet. This workshop is designed for parents with children in pre-school children through grade one, and special education. Workshop 4:

Creating a Positive Environment in Your Home

How can parents create  positive self-esteem in their children? What can parents say to their children to let them know that they are valued? In this program parents will find out how to work with their children in a positive manner. They will learn how to direct and encourage their children. Mrs. Spangler will share the strategies that she uses to create a positive learning environment and develop self esteem in her students.
